Phase III - $500,000 Matching Fund Video

Dear Praying Friends,
We continue to thank God for you and how you partnered with ESMI in serving our Haitian brothers and sisters in their time of greatest need and deep suffering. As you gave, ESMI served the people in the three departments affected by the 7.2 earthquake: Sud (Les Cayes), Grand'Anse (Jeremie), and Nippes (Miragoane). Here's a summary:
- 8,450 Bags of Rice (27.5lb per bag)
- 3,450,000 Manna Pack or Similar Meals
- 6,500 Cases of Spaghetti
- 500 Bags of Peas (50lbs per bag)
- 2,300 Bags of Wheat (50lbs per bag)
- 1,300 Gallons of Mazola Cooking Oil
- 2300 Bags of Refined Corn (50lbs per bag)
- 9,800 Cases of Water (24 per case)
- 1200 Tarps
- 400 Tents
These past three weeks in September, your gifts enabled ESMI to continue serving the people.
- 500 additional tents purchased in the Dominican Republic
- 56 pallets of food, wheelchairs, walkers, medical supplies, tents, etc. shipped and cleared
- 10-wheel box truck purchased and shipped to assist in Phase III
- 6-wheel frontliner donated for the relief in Cayes
- To begin reconstruction the following purchased for the pastors and leaders in Sud (Cayes) and Nippes (Miragoane): 4,500 bags of cement; 7,500 zinc roofing, 1,800 2x4x16 plywood
- Funds given to two pastors to begin rebuilding their schools
- Funds given to begin rebuilding Bonberger Church in Les Cayes

As we transition into Phase III, much more funds will be needed. We praise God for using a family foundation that has put before us a matching fund of $500,0000 to help accomplish Phase III. Will you partner with ESMI once again by matching every dollar of this $500,000?

Praise & Prayer Requests
- Praise God for all that was accommplished in August and Septemer
- Praise God for the Matching Fund Challenge that will go from September 27 to October 27; pray for God's provision through His people.
- Pray for the provision of more food.
- Pray for meetings today and tomorrow with the pastors and leaders in the Nippes(Miragane) and Grand'Anse (Jeremie) departments to discuss Phase III.
- Pray for pastoral training that will begin again in Cayes, Gonaives, Jeremie, and Mirebalais in October to encourage our pastors.
- Special prayers tomorrow for Joseph. The Chicago medical team met Joseph who was paralyzed when he fell from a tree during the earthquake. He will have surgery tomorrow: September 28. After many tests, the doctors believe he may walk again. Pray with us toward that end as we know God is able!!!
- Next US medical team scheduled to minister in Grand'Anse, October 30-November 6. Still space for 3 medical professonals. Contact Mary Phil Illges at [email protected]
